About the work
Nicoletta (Adam's wife) has been breastfeeding for sixteen years across six children. For the past two years, now almost exclusively from her right breast, by the preference of their youngest daughter. The gold is not metaphor. It is the most accurate description available for what that breast has produced and continues to produce. Gold represents the value their kids have placed in the breast milk that sustains/sustained them.
The left breast remains black. The right one is gold. The drip of golden elixir is still running.
